If we hit the record button it will look like it’s just playing the clip, but while it is we have the ability to click on the clip line to add what’s called a script mark wherever the dialogue for that line occurs. Select your clip, hit the play button in the menu bar and we can play it through in the source monitor. If you dropped a selection of clips on it it would create one slate with three lines for each clip. Notice how we have a thumbnail for the slate and a line through the dialogue that we had selected.
